Les Baer Sight options, an overview
I get questions from time to time regarding Les Baer Sights. Which sights for which model? What sights are better? What is the purpose of the different types of sights? I'll try to provide a high level overview of the most popular sight options on current LBC pistols. I'll also try to keep it brief, because sometimes "less is more". Sometimes, though, less is not enough, so if you have questions or comments, please let me know. Email at: rick@arms-tek.com
Rear Sights:
Baer Adjustable Low Mount Rear Sight: This excellent rear sight is designed for target shooting. Designed by Les Baer Custom it is probably the most common sight for all LBC models. It is the easiest sight to see clearly and acquire quickly of all the sight options. This sight is an excellent choice for target, but, due to its low profile, works well for carry.
Deluxe Fixed Combat Tritium Night Sights: An excellent non-snagging rear sight with tritium vials. This sight is probably the most common rear sight on the most popular LBC pistols, the Thunder Ranch Special, Ultimate Tactical Carry, Swift Response Pistol, etc. Note, LBC does not put a white outline around any of their night sights. The sight is intended to give the crisp, all-black sight picture in daylight, enhanced by tritium at night.
Low Mount Combat Fixed Sight: Identical to the Fixed Combat Tritium rear sight but all black, with no tritium vials. An ideal sight for those who want a crisp straight-forward sight picture in a no-snag combat sight.
Low Mount Adjustable with Tritium: Found on the Premier II Super Tac, this fantastic sight is the best combination of the fast acquiring Adjustable sight enhanced with Tritium for low light conditions. If you want a pistol that "works all week and is ready to play on the weekend" this sight (and pistol) are a top choice.
Rolo Low Mount Adjustable: Available with and without Tritium, this sight is found on the Monolith Stinger series of LBC pistols. By combining adjustability with a no-snag profile and then shrinking the whole package down to the appropriate scale for the Stinger the Rolo gives you all the performance in in unobtrusive rear sight.

Front Sights
Baer Serrated Dovetail Front Ramp: This is the sight that is found with most of the non-night sight Target models and Combat models. Serrated to eliminate glare, mounted in a dovetail for future flexibility and and built stout, this is one of the best all-black front sights I have ever seen.
Baer Dovetail Front Night Sight: Paired with all the rear Night Sights, this is the front sight found on some of the most popular LBC pistols. Again, note there is no white outline so this sight will function like a black sight in the day with a tritium glow in the dark.
Fiber Optic Front Sight: This generously sized light-gathering Fiber Optic front sight is found in the sporting LBC pistols, the Boss and the Hunter. It is paired with the Adjustable Low Mount Rear Sight in both of those models.

It's good to bear in mind that, while each sight combination has a specific purpose, your own personal preference and experiences are important in selecting your sights. For example, my own Ultimate Tactical Carry came from LBC with the Fixed Combat Tritium Sights. I had them switched out for the non-tritium Combat sights. I just like the crisp sight picture of an all black sight.
Sights are an important consideration when choosing your Les Baer, but there are other considerations too, like thumb safety configuration, finish, checkering and grips. Sights are one of the easier components to change, as long as the dovetails are compatible with the replacement sights. So keep the big picture in mind.
